Big Boats
The Boat Show at the Excel exhibition begins this weekend, as the company I work for has a stand there this means we get a pile of free passes for staff, and that gives me an excuse to do Excel on the DLR, as by co-incidence I'll be in London briefly over the weekend on my way home from Brighton.

If anyone fancies looking at big boats and wants to come with me, let me know.

The boats don't do much for me, but meeting up would be nice if you fancy it.

Boats do sod all for me too, but I have a free pass to the Exhibition Centre so it's a good excuse as haven't got any stations at all on that section of the DLR yet.

I'll be in Brighton, so travelling back via Victoria in early afternoon - train home to Cornwall is Monday morning.

I take it you mean Sunday? Not sure I'll be free yet, but if I am, it would be great to see you.

yes, tiz Sunday. Looks like poggs is keen on seeing the boats too, and I notice there's a tubewalk on between Cockfosters and Oakwood, starting at 2, which are two stations also on the 'to be collected' list...so now I'm torn!

Boat show is open till seven though.

I'll head back from Brighton after a late breakfast though, so if Victoria is easy for you we could always met there. I have books for you (although I may need to borrow them back as I need to scan some illustrations)!

Also, in my stupidity of a cleaning bender while packing B's stuff up for him I managed to throw out the zine pages I did so I'll try to rewrite them before the weekend.

Not really on the subject of boats, a perhaps a little early for me to ask, but Poggs and I are going to the London Transport Museum Open Day at Acton in March if you would like to join us?

I've been before, it's an absolute must for anyone with an interest in the architecture and design of the Underground, it would be great to meet you at last! It's open the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March 2008, have a clicky link - http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/visiting/86.aspx

I've had my eye on that since last year, so yes would love to go!

March 11th is my birthday so I think I can justify that as a birthday treat as what I wanted to do has now fallen by the wayside due to a change in my circumstances.

cool - you into the boats then? You'll need a passport sized photo for the pass. Will drop you a text to sort timings out.

I'm not a boat fan per se, but a day out looking at big shiny boats and experiencing something NEW sounds exciting!

ok - I'll drop you a text tomorrow morning when I get back into town from Brighton...I'd like to collect a few DLR stations as it is getting out to bits of London I have no reason to vist other than for tubewhore...and on picking up a new map on Thursday evening I see that the stations listed on the map hsve increased quite a bit - even Clapham Junction is now on the tube map now!

Cool beans, I'm free all day (although I'll be lugging around my laptop and Blackberry in case work breaks) and I'm up for doing the DLR too if you need a camera-hand :)

Do you count the Overground as part of 'the tube'?

Sorry we didn't manage to connect up in the end. We did the tubewalk and then nipped down to the Boat Show just before it closed...

Up again in mid-Feb I hope, so maybe plans things better, but yes, the rule is if it's on the tube map I have to do it, which has just added a whole pile of stations to the project.

Those have, uncomfortably, been temporarily set aside as some of my money lions have reared their heads and shook their fearsome manes as of late.

I'm working on it, believe me, Fine Ms Whore o'the Tubes
