So...sat up far far too late last night playing this:
http://www.waitingforlunchtime.co.uk/tubegame.html

and oh but it was addictive...couldn't stop until I'd nailed all but the Silverlink BR stations...towards the end it did turn into charades with B making up clues from the copy of the map he had.  More pleased than I should be that we put in about 64% straight off, including odd places like Preston Park and Gallions Reach. Finally crawled into bed at nearly 2am, in a slightly manic state with scratchy, dry eyes from staring at the screen for way way to long trying to puzzle out places like Ickenham and Leyton.

However...the scoring is very odd, giving the potential stations at 322.  Hmmm... Slightly boggled in an anally compulsive fashion  I sit and count all the stations listed on the back of the handy pocket tube map, which also includes the Silverlink BR line which connects Richmond to Stratford and of course the DLR.  This gives me a different total again of 327. Curiouser and curioser...

The most likely explanation is that the figures for the tube - given by Wiki at 275 - means only the tube itself and not the Silverlink or the DLR. But even then the figures don't quite tally - there are supposedly 38 DLR stations, and after adding that to 275 and counting up all the standalone Silverlink stations I still make that an extra 54 not 52 stations.  By now my head hurts.

An earlier poll on this journal established that what is given on the map is that which counts towards the porject as I slowly tippex the map into oblivion.  Therefore the numbers on my profile page are wrong, meaning a discrepancy between the list of stations collected/to collect, which does include the DLR and the achived figure and goal figure which would not.

So executive decision: the alphabetical list of stations totals 327 - that's the final goal figure...Off now to amend the profile to bring it into line with the tube map's index to stations.  Should I be happy that I've just now added another 54 stations to the summit?  Not sure yet  - does mean I am no longer past halfway - 139 stations down, 188 to go - 25 to halfway...at this rate by the time I finish it, the buggers will have built some more!
